MEET ALEXANDRIA:

Alexandria King, a Masters of Social Work Primary Therapist at Sun Point Wellness Center, brings a wealth of experience and compassion to her work with individuals, couples, and families. A graduate of Millersville University with a Master’s in Social Work, Alexandria embodies the belief that “sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up,” a mantra inspired by Brené Brown. As the first in her family to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree, Alexandria’s personal journey of perseverance fuels her passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges.

Alexandria’s specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, women’s mental health, and supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals, including those navigating transitioning and identity exploration. She integrates evidence-based practices like CBT, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and EMDR resourcing into her sessions, creating personalized and effective treatment plans. Her systemic approach helps clients understand the connections between their past and present, offering a pathway to healing and growth. Alexandria’s appreciation for works like The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk deepens her understanding of trauma, helping her connect with clients in a meaningful and empathetic way.

  • Alexandria takes a strengths-based and holistic approach in her work, recognizing the inherent resilience and unique abilities of each client. She believes in meeting individuals, couples, and families where they are while actively collaborating to create actionable strategies for growth and healing. By focusing on the whole person and the systems that shape their experiences, she supports her clients in achieving sustainable change. Whether helping couples improve communication, guiding families through transitions, or empowering individuals to overcome personal challenges, Alexandria ensures her interventions are not only effective but also deeply affirming of each client’s values and goals.

In her work with couples and families, Alexandria uses her expertise in relational dynamics to promote understanding and connection. Her previous roles as a Care Manager at Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital, a medical social worker at a local hospital, and an MCT at Sun Point Wellness Center have provided her with diverse perspectives on how systemic factors impact relationships. Alexandria’s ability to foster open communication and her warm, non-judgmental demeanor make her a trusted guide for those navigating conflict or life transitions. Clients and colleagues alike describe her as empathetic, patient, reliable, supportive, and encouraging.

Outside of her work, Alexandria enjoys relaxing by playing video games on her Nintendo Switch or PS5, reading fantasy series like Throne of Glass on her Kindle, and spending quality time with her two beloved cats, Ellie and Milo. Her thoughtful, approachable nature, coupled with her dedication to personal and professional growth, makes Alexandria an invaluable member of the Sun Point Wellness Center team.
