Grievance Policy

Purpose

Sun Point is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based counseling services to all clients. We recognize the importance of addressing any dissatisfaction that may arise with the services provided. Our Grievance Policy ensures that clients have a clear, effective process for raising concerns and complaints. 

Procedure for Reporting Clinical Complaints

  1. Initial Steps:
    If you are dissatisfied with the services provided, you have the right to address your concerns. You may do so by submitting a written complaint or by contacting us directly. For concerns regarding clinical services, please follow these procedures:

    • Written Complaints:

      • For Outpatient clients at Sun Point Wellness Center Clients: Send your written complaint to Laura Morse, M.Ed., LPC at laura@sunpointwellness.com.

    • Phone Complaints:

      • Contact Laura Morse, M.Ed., LPC directly at (301) 960-8991 to provide a verbal statement of your complaint.

  2. Escalation to Pennsylvania State Board:
    If you wish to escalate your complaint beyond Sun Point, you may file a complaint with the Pennsylvania State Board of Counseling or the State Board of Psychology. The following options are available:

    • Filing a Complaint with the Pennsylvania Department of State:

      • Complete a Statement of Complaint Form on the Department's PALS website.

      • Call the complaint hotline at (717) 783-4849.

      • Email RA-ST-Complaints@pa.gov to request a form be mailed to you.

    • Contacting the State Board of Psychology:

      • Call toll-free at (833) DOS-BPOA.

      • Email ST-PSYCHOLOGY@PA.GOV.

      • Mail a letter to P.O. Box 2649, Harrisburg, PA 17105-2649.

      • Visit the physical address at 2525 N 7th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Investigation and Response

Sun Point will investigate all internal complaints thoroughly and respond within 30 days. This timeframe may be adjusted if legal or ethical considerations necessitate a quicker response. All investigations will be conducted by the CEO and the Executive Director of Clinical Services, with the possibility of involving outside legal counsel or ethical consultation if deemed necessary.
