MEET Kendra:
Kendra Tate is a dedicated and compassionate therapist with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. She is skilled in a variety of treatment modalities and patient care approaches, including Community Health Worker (CHW) training, Trauma-Informed Care Training/EMDR, and Treatment and Recovery. Her extensive work in the field has deepened her understanding of treating individuals with mental illnesses, supporting their families, and navigating service systems tailored to their needs while advocating for social justice.
Clients describe Kendra as open-minded, amiable, and authentic. Her personal journey, influenced by her uncle's mental illness, has fueled her passion for helping others. Inspired by her personal experiences, notably her uncle's battle with schizophrenia and the film A Beautiful Mind, Kendra has developed a profound awareness of mental health issues. This inspiration drives her commitment to reducing stigmatization and advocating for effective treatment, combining antipsychotic medication with regular therapy sessions.

Kendra’s educational achievements include earning a Bachelor’s degree and a one-year Advanced Standing Master’s Degree in Social Work. She has also contributed to the Opioid Workforce Expansion Program Grant, working with medically underserved populations dealing with opioid or substance use disorders.
Specializing in areas such as behavioral issues, play therapy, EMDR, women's mental health, racial identity, depression, anxiety, dual diagnosis, family conflict, and mood disorders, Kendra embodies a nurturing, attentive, and client-centered approach. She incorporates various therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Gottman Methods Couples Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR Trauma Therapy. She is committed to helping individuals from all walks of life through a culturally sensitive lens.
In her free time, Kendra enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, being outdoors, exercising, and going thrifting.
