MEET SARA:
Sara Code-Kroll partners with individuals and couples who are looking to feel confident in themselves and in their relationships with compassion based therapeutic approaches. Her approach to therapy involves warmth, compassion, and unconditional acceptance. Sara creates a safe space to help all walking into her office to explore, honor and respect their deepest needs. With a focus on integrating acceptance and commitment therapy, she holds space for her client’s vulnerable stories. She tailors her therapeutic style to each of her clients needs and goals. For some of her clients this means consistent ongoing therapy, while she also works with couples looking for relationship tune-up sessions.
Clients seek out Sara to help them move past traumatic experiences, rediscover joy and happiness in their lives, or to forge new healthy relationship patterns. Sara is here to help address anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and sexual concerns. With EMDRIA approved training, Sara is honored to work with her clients through EMDR trauma therapy - a modality of therapy that is evidence-based to help you overcome trauma. EMDR therapy provides a unique route to access and health wounds via a collaborative and supportive process. Sara believes her therapy room is the place to begin talking through a plan to make changes in the direction you want to go.

Couples reach out to work with Sara to talk through sensitive issues such as affair repair, sexual struggles, and communication differences around gridlocked issues. She welcomes individuals of all genders and relationship arrangements and frequently helps her clients with personal development, shame reduction, and LGBTQ concerns. Sara works with adults in her practice and practices cultural competence.
When clients meet Sara they describe immediately feeling her warm, caring energy - along with her ability to gently point out patterns in relationships. Sara is experienced in having vulnerable conversations around sexuality: including, diverse sexual interests, concerns about masturbation, sexual dysfunction, and understanding how shame or religious messages may be hindering your enjoyment of sex. She is honored to help teach mindfulness to help her clients find peace in both their non-sexual and sexual lives. She provides sensate focus sexual exercises to her couples looking to improve their sexual scripts in the bedroom.
One of Sara’s favorite books is "Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself" by Kristin Neff. Sara finds that self-compassion is a powerful healing tool. When we can hold compassion for our pain and suffering, we can cultivate inner support which allows us to access deeper parts of ourselves to heal and grow in notable ways. She aims to help clients develop self-compassion as a route toward healing and honoring the deepest parts of themselves.
