Tyler’s approach to therapy is rooted in a strengths-based, non-judgmental framework, inspired by the teachings of Tara Brach's Radical Self-Acceptance. Tyler believes that true self-acceptance begins with acknowledging what is happening within us and regarding those experiences with an open, compassionate heart. He strives to help clients see themselves through a lens of self-compassion, allowing them to build on their innate strengths and foster personal growth in a supportive and understanding space.
Mindfulness practices are integral to Tyler’s work, where he incorporates techniques like breathing exercises, body scan meditations, and present-moment awareness to help clients manage anxiety, navigate trauma, and build resilience. Tyler draws from mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and works extensively with trauma, men’s mental health, religious trauma, and spirituality. His expertise also includes supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD), creating inclusive and affirming spaces for clients of all backgrounds.
Outside of therapy, Tyler enjoys cooking, especially exploring new plant-based recipes, and often unwinds by reading fiction, poetry, and biographies. A music lover and guitar player, he brings creativity and curiosity into both his personal and professional life. With a genuine commitment to personal growth, Tyler feels honored to walk alongside clients on their journeys toward self-discovery, self-acceptance, and overall well-being.
